The Jojoba plant, native to Mexico and southern United States, is an evergreen shrub which grows to a height of 2.5m. The oil extracted from the seeds by cold pressing, is unique as it is composed of liquid wax and not of fat. This means there is less likelihood of the oil to deteriorate due to its stability and resistance to oxidise. Also the close chemical structure to the skins own sebum allows the oil to penetrate without leaving an oily feeling on the skin after application. The natural emollient and anti-inflammatory properties of Jojoba oil make it ideal to use in skincare for all skin types.
